A Tale of Two Crimes

A Tale of Two Crimes

First Crime:
Date: December 28, 2003
Place: Wilmette, Illinois.
Perpetrator: Unknown
Crime: Home Burglary

Hale DeMar was a 54 year old restaurateur living in Wilmette, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois.  While he was home, late at night, a burglar crawled through a pet door and stole a Sony PlayStation 2, a TV set, and with his keys, his BMWX5 sport utility vehicle.  Hale called the police via 911 and remained upstairs with his children.  The police arrived long after the burglar and his possessions were gone.  The police told Hale that he had done the right thing by calling them and not confronting the intruder.  However, they would probably never catch the thief.  Hale would probably never see his car again.  “Sorry, but we cannot patrol this street any more than usual just because he got away with your keys.  Better get your locks changed.  By the way, those bright lights that you have shining on all sides of the house are good.”

Open questions:  Who did the crime and when and where will there be another victim?

Second Crime:
Date: December 29, 2003
Place: Wilmette, Illinois.
Perpetrator: Morio L. Billings
Crime: Home Burglary

Morio L. Billings needed crack.  AWOL from the army and in violation of probation he had only one way to get it.  He coolly picked out a house in a quiet neighborhood and walked in.  He later told the police that he didn’t care if someone was home or not.   The homeowner did care, he cared a lot.  He came down stairs shooting.  Morio had a sudden and severe change of heart.  He wanted out of that house as badly as the homeowner wanted him out.  He was wounded in the upper left arm.  As he scrambled around trying to find a door, a window, any way out, he was shot in the left leg.  He finally dove through a living room window.  He was long gone by the time the police arrived.  The police were very put out with the homeowner.  He did everything wrong!  He never should have come down stairs.  Certainly, he never should have used a gun!  It was a man named Morio L. Billings who invaded your home.  We know this because he just checked himself into the hospital.  No, he won’t be back.

Answers to those questions:

Morio committed the first as well as the second crime.  Indeed, it was even the same house.  It was the BMWX5 sport utility vehicle that he used to drive himself to the hospital.  The folks in the house were so harmless on the first night why not go back?  Hale learned a lesson as well.  The police were virtually powerless and apathetic to his problems.  On the second night he assured his frightened children that the bad man wouldn’t come back; but if he did daddy would handle it.  He told the reporters that it was him who caught the burglar, not the police.  This time there are no questions.  Tonight they sleep in peace.

A Tale of Two Crimes – The Sequel

The City of Wilmette did not thank Hale DeMar for ending and solving the one man crime spree perpetrated by Morio L. Billings at no cost to the tax payers.  They did not name him citizen of the year.  Though the Cook County grand jury ruled his use of a firearm against Morio to be justified self-defense, they charged him on January 8, 2004 to be in violation of the Illinois firearm owners’ identification law.  Violation of that law was punishable by a fine up to $2,500.00 and/or one year in jail.  The public outcry was so resounding that a month later they dropped the charge saying that they did not want to “revictimize” DeMar for a “lapse”.  The City of Wilmette did charge him to be in violation of their permit system and fined him $750.00.  They too later dropped their charge in the face of heated public support for DeMar.

The Illinois state legislature by a wide margin wrote a new law that basically says that any Illinois citizen may ignore a local ordinance that demands a permit to own a firearm, for self-defense purposes, if actually used in self defense, otherwise they must comply with such ordinances.  Huh? The Democrat governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich vetoed the law but nevertheless it was passed over his veto.

There was a challenge to the Wilmette handgun permit law filed in Cook County Circuit Court which failed to overturn the law.

A Tale of Two Crimes – Continues

In 2010 the United States Supreme Court ruled in McDonald vs. City of Chicago that the right to keep and bear arms is a civil right possessed by all citizens and declared the gun bans of Chicago to be unconstitutional.  The mayor of Chicago, Richard Daley, threw a fit and called on the city council to write more gun control laws with such severe compliance requirements that they effectively, once again, ban firearm ownership by the citizens of his city.  There has been another federal lawsuit filed against the city of Chicago.  By July of 2010 three Chicago police officers have been ambushed and shot to death in this war zone mayor Daley has created.

The battle for “common sense” gun laws continues unabated.

Wait, there is more...

In 2013 the City of Chicago will be forced to accept the new concealed carry laws passed by the Illinois state legislature.  The state legislature was forced to write these concealed carry statutes after Illinois lost another federal case on the matter.  For the first time in decades honest, peaceful citizens will be able to carry firearms legally in Illinois.  Now we will see how the legendary crime rates of Chicago will be effected.

Stand Your Ground

There was a considerable amount of unreasonable criticism directed  towards Florida's Stand Your Ground  law in the wake of George Zimmerman's trial.  It was misrepresented as a license to kill by much of the emotional coverage.  The law was labeled as a radical concept which has failed and needs to be reined in.  Before we jump to that conclusion let us hear from Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

"The law has grown, and even if historical mistakes have contributed to its growth, it has tended in the direction of rules consistent with human nature. Many respectable writers agree that, if a man reasonably believes that he is in immediate danger of death or grievous bodily harm from his assailant, he may stand his ground, and that, if he kills him, he has not exceeded the bounds of lawful self-defense. That has been the decision of this Court. Beard v. United States, 158 U. S. 550, 158 U. S. 559. Detached reflection cannot be demanded in the presence of an uplifted knife. Therefore, in this Court at least, it is not a condition of immunity that one in that situation should pause to consider whether a reasonable man might not think it possible to fly with safety or to disable his assailant, rather than to kill him. Rowe v. United States, 164 U. S. 546, 164 U. S. 558.
Moreover, if the last shot was intentional and may seem to have been unnecessary when considered in cold blood, the defendant would not necessarily lose his immunity if it followed close upon the others while the heat of the conflict was on, and if the defendant believed that he was fighting for his life."

Brown v. United States, 256 U.S. 335 (1921) (opinion by Justice Holmes).

Orc Victim Speaks Out

In the 1980's Suzi Quatro was a young girl in Hollywood when an orc struck.  She was taken to bed and became pregnant.  After that she obtained an abortion, which she has regretted to this day.  This linked article tells the tale.  Notice the statement towards the end:
‘When I get to those Pearly Gates — hopefully — this is the sin I will pay for. I am so sorry for it, but sometimes you just don’t have a choice and I was absolutely petrified.

The biggest lie in this whole debate is that it is a matter of the woman's choice.  Her only real choices are to abort, or suffer the trials of a single mother.  Either way, the orc who got to her is "outta there!", and either way, she is left with the guilt.

Wake up ladies.  This whole issue is only about abusing you.

Orcs In Our World

One of my favorite movie series is the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.  It shows robust courage and suffering in the good beings as they combat the evil.  In the Return of the King episode the best moment is when the Riders of Rohan top the hill and get their first look at the huge size of the orc army.  At a glance they see that they cannot prevail; that they will sacrifice themselves for the cause of good.  Their hesitation is but a moment.  They unsheathe their swords and present their spears; they charge at full gallop directly into the foe.  Beautiful.

Rider of Rohan

I envy those riders in one way.  Their enemies were orcs, ugly savage orcs.  They could spot them from a mile away and everyone knew it was perfectly sensible to kill them on sight, like roaches.  How easy is that?  Unfortunately, in our world, our enemies all look like us.  They act like us as they rip out our spirits and do their utmost to destroy us.  All the while they put on the mask of perfectly sensible, harmonious members of our social order.  Disgusting.

Orc

Ladies, beware of your enemy.  He looks like a nice guy.  He tells you nice things and makes wonderful promises.  Always test him.  Give him nothing of yourself until he earns your respect and love.  Think about it; is he asking for pleasurable, physical favors without investing himself through time, commitments, promises kept and, especially, conformity with decorum as taught by our good Lord Christ?  In short, if he is pressuring you inappropriately, he is an orc.

Orc?

Otherwise, if he treats you like a lady, maintains control of himself and his behavior, asks nothing inappropriate and commits himself while keeping promises, then he may be the “one”; but test him!

Perfect Angel

Catholic ladies, only consider a catholic man, no others.  If he agrees sincerely to convert then agree to marry him once that is complete.  This is a fine test, for it shows him the way to heaven as well as proving his love for you.  If he refuses to consider such a conversion, then part ways.  It is a good and firm commandment of the church that we marry only within the church.  This really matters once the children begin to grow.  Always remember that once married always married.  You have one chance to get this right and those orcs look like nice guys.  Courage and fidelity to Christ will protect you always!

Finally, here is a video which shows the orcs talking about you.

Diabolic Disorientation in the Church

Diabolic Disorientation in the Church

The above link opens a lengthy article published in 2006 by the New Oxford Review.  It describes why the Church, who is supposed to be standing firmly against evil and standing for truth, seems to be wallowing in filth; sex scandals, contributing moneys to abortion advocates, teaching grave errors, pandering to slimy politicians, just to name a few of the more notorious and recent examples.

It is an article well worth reading.  These are strange and dangerous times.  While it appears the we have been left as orphans by Holy Mother Church, do not fear.  She is sick now, filled with human and spiritual contagions, but we must stand by her out of love for Christ and in the simple faith of His promise never to leave us.  To be scandalized is to fall into the traps set by demons.

The Incoherent Supreme Court

in·co·her·ent [in-koh-heer-uhhttp://static.sfdict.com/dictstatic/dictionary/graphics/luna/thinsp.pnghttp://static.sfdict.com/dictstatic/dictionary/graphics/luna/thinsp.pngnt, -her-] adjective
1. without logical or meaningful connection; disjointed; rambling: an incoherent sentence.

This word, incoherent, best sums up the Supreme Court’s attempt at settling the issue of the impossible: “gay marriage”.  In the Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA) ruling they stated that the states have the jurisdiction to declare for their own people how a marriage is defined.  They reasoned that it was not the purpose of the Federal government to usurp state authority on this matter, thus DOMA, a law that protected the true definition of marriage, for federal purposes, was struck down.

However, in almost the same breath, they refused to interfere in a lower federal district court’s ruling which struck down a California state law which was lawfully passed by a sovereign state, also declaring a marriage to be solely between a man and a woman. What the hell?!!!  DOMA is struck because it is not the federal government’s business what the states rule for themselves in this matter.  However, when one state does rule conservatively in this matter, a federal judge may strike it down!

Fellow Christians, the writing is on the wall.  Like a ratchet, regardless of which way the handle turns, the movement of our country is always towards evil.  We must all turn back to the Holy Roman Catholic Church.  We must take up the shield of faith and fight this tide with courage.  When a colleague at work lets slip a statement supporting this kind of evil, say something; make it polite, but say something.  Say something affirming the teachings of Jesus Christ right then, do not wait for a better time, it will not come.

The real tragedy in these many and manifest errors is the millions of lost souls.  If we stay silent, hoping to hold our seat in the Bark of Peter without risk to ourselves, we will be to blame.  If we speak up and receive chastisements for our efforts our crown will shine only the brighter in the times to come.  If we speak up and someone has their conscience tweaked enough to return home, then we may truly hear the soothing words of our Lord calling us a “good and faithful servant”.

I do not know why this darkness is consuming the world but it is time to fight for Christ.
